If you are a certified PMP professional, you must maintain your PMP certification every three years. Otherwise, your PMP certification will expire and you will have to retake the examPMP certification exam. However,PMP refresherit is much easier than studying again for the PMP exam. To maintain your PMP certification, you must earn 60PMP PDUevery three years. PMP PDU Requirements
PMI requires recertification for all of its certifications. You can read everythingPMI PDU driver. Therefore, if you have a PMP certification, you must earn 60 PDUs in three years. Once you have completed 60 PDUs, you must submit them to the PMI website and apply for PMP recertification accordingly.
The figure below shows the PDU cycle and demand for each PMI certification.
PDU stands for Professional Development Unit and PMI classified only PDUs in 2016. Professionals with PMP certification participated in trainings, courses, lectures and worked as practitioners on projects. After uploading earned PDUs, they could renew their PMP certification.
In 2016, PMI introduced the PMI Talent Triangle and introduced new requirements for earning PDUs.Changes to PDU submissions include new PMI PDU categories, a PMP PDU breakdown, and PMP PDU limits for each category.
Note that PMI has recently changed the names of PDUs in the Education category. PDUs in the technical project management category will henceforth be replaced by "Working methods"; PDUs in the category of Strategic and Business Management are replaced by "Business Acumen"; PDUs in the Leadership category are replaced by "Power Skills".
The PMI Talent Triangle suggests that ideal project manager skills includeWays of working, skills, power, business acumen. Therefore, a PMP Certified Professional must acquire PMP PDUs that correspond to these three categories of the PMI Talent Triangle. Let us now go through the PMP PDU requirements in detail one by one.
PMP PDU Requirements #1 - Minimum of 35 PMP PDUs for educational institutions
The first PMP PDU requirement is that a PMP Certified Professional must earn at least 35 educational PMP PDUs.The Education category has the following PDU earning sources:
- course or training
- Organizational meetings
- Online digital media
- Read
- Informal learning
In addition, these educational PDUs must contain at least 8 PDUs from each category of the PMI Talent Triangle: Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen. After completing 8 PDUs in each category, the remaining 11 PDUs in the education category can fall into any category of the PMI Talent Triangle.Note that the minimum required PMP PDU limit is 35 Education Category PDUs. Therefore, you can fulfill all your 60 PMP PDU needs from the education category.

PMP PDU #2 Request - up to 25 return PMP PDUs
The second category of PMI PDUs is the return category.A PMP certified professional can submit up to 25 PMP PDUs in the "donation" category.The Payback PMI PDU category has the following PDU earning sources:

- Make a presentation
- Sharing knowledge
- Volunteer
In addition, of these PMP PDUs from the return category,The PMP PDU limit for the Work as Practitioner category is a maximum of 8 PDUs.Internship work includes project management activities that you will perform at your workplace. You can report your projects and project management activities when you submit your PDUs, which will earn you 8 PDUs over three years.

PMP Request PDU #3 - The same activity cannot be used in a new CCRS cycle
If you participated35 contact hours PMP certification training, and if this course met your PM training requirements to take the PMP exam, you cannot use the same action to renew your PMP certification. To earn PMP PDUs, you must take new courses or courses.
Likewise if you usedPMP PDU cursusorganization or any other material in previous CCRS cycles, do not use the same action in future PMP certification renewals.
PMI PDU-categories

b-) Content creation

c-) Make a presentation
You can give a presentation in a PMI department, at a professional seminar or conference, or you can even give a project management presentation to colleagues at work. They also bring you PMP PDUs.
d-) Sharing knowledge
If you share your project management knowledge and experience with others, they will also bring you PDUs. For example, you supervise junior project management professionals, teach your colleagues in your organization or act as a subject matter expert. They fall under the knowledge sharing category of PMI PDI.
e-) Volunteering
PMI has several volunteer activities. Volunteering in these chapters, activities, etc. will earn you PDUs while contributing to your project management knowledge.
