Preparatory Academy Dress Code 2020.pdf
Dress code preparatory academy
The 71-year-old prep academy adheres to a strict dress code to reduce peer pressure to buy expensive brands, identify our students securely and quickly, and create a sense of pride and community in our high school. Preparatory Academy students age 71 and older are expected to wear their uniforms daily, except on special event days. We prepare our students for studies and careers and to be proud of themselves and their school. Shirts and blouses are tucked in, and skirts should be worn to the knee, which is considered the correct length. At the beginning of each school year, our staff explains the dress code to our students in preparation for the Academy, with the understanding that students who do not adhere to our school's dress code will not participate in Dress Days.
The following procedures are in place to ensure that students come to school in uniform:
Class teachers are expected to report students who do not wear uniform to the dean.
8th grade students are not allowed to go outside during lunch unless they are wearing the required appropriate school uniform. This is to ensure that our students can be easily identified in an emergency.
The school uniform of the Preparatory Academy consists of:
• Dark blue or light brown trousers. Knee-length skirts in dark blue or light brown. Navy blue or white polo shirt. Navy or white sweater with school crest. ● Wear regular knee highs or regular tights (white or dark blue only) with skirts. Shirts should always be worn. ● During the hot months, students may wear navy blue or beige shorts. Shorts must be knee length. ● Coats must be stored in a locker or school bag.
Gymnastics equipment:
All students of the Academy are obliged to participate in gymnastics classes. Equipment for gymnastics
it should only be worn on days when the class has a gym. ● Gymnastics t-shirts must bear the school crest and cannot be worn with the regular school uniform on days when the class does not have a gym.
Plain dark blue tracksuits can be worn in lieu of school tracksuits as long as there are no markings, stickers or writing on them.

The director announces a day earlier based on the forecasted weather. School Shoes ● Shoes (including UGGs) should not be worn unless it is snowing. Upon arrival at school, students must change their clothes and keep them in their school backpack.
High School Dress Up Days:
